Born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1999, Rajat moved through Belgium, Dubai and Bahrain during his formative years. However, the only place Rajat really called home was music. Music was where Rajat found his identity and raison d’etre.
It is through this medium that Rajat confronts some of life’s most challenging moments head-on, finding solace in knowing that someone else out there understands exactly how he feels through music.
Rajat started formal music education at the Bahrain Music Institute and by the age of 14 composed a piece of music that garnered him much recognition and that was just the beginning of several such accolades.
Since then, this talented musician has graced some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Ehrbar Hall in Vienna and the NCPA in India. He has captivated audiences with his unique blend of standard repertoire and original compositions, earning him gold medals in both the composition and piano categories of the North American International Virtuoso Music competition.
Rajat is currently pursuing his passion for music at the prestigious UBC School of Music. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Dorothy Chang, he is honing his skills in composition, while also receiving valuable insights from Dr. David Fung on pianism. Rajat has had the privilege of being a student of renowned professors such as Dr. Stephen Chatman and Dr. Patricia Hoy, which has further enriched his musical knowledge.
